Happiness is in the water

Sailors the world over are drawn to the Kemah waterfront. Maybe it’s our convenient proximity to nearby waterways and cities. Or perhaps it’s that special breeze that makes sailing here feel just right. No matter what draws you in, we make every bit of our 45-acre waterfront count. From breathtaking marinas to boating and water activities—we honor our past as a fishing and shrimping hub while finding new ways to bring you fun in the sun.

The Kemah Boardwalk Marina

While Kemah boasts many nearby marinas, perhaps the most well-known and accessible is the Kemah Boardwalk Marina. With 414 boat slips, there’s plenty of room to host temporary and permanent visitors alike. Let the marina assistants help with your dock lines and connect you with support services—so all you have to worry about is hitting the water.

No boat? No problem.

Kemah has tons of nearby charters to help you hit the water safely (with as much or as little guidance as you need.)

Take up to 12 passengers out on the water with Captain Matt of Sailaway Clear Lake Charters. Whether you’re interested in a sunset cruise, a party rental or even a wedding—there’s an option just for you.

Want a whole fleet of boats to choose from? South Coast Sailing Adventures provides both crewed and bareboat charters based on your boating experience. Fun fact: they also have a sister school for sailing lessons.

And if you’re seeking a sunset cruise package that includes a tasty menu, Windward SeaVenture has you covered. They also have a full fleet to choose from for your parties, corporate events and sailing lessons.

Catch of the day

What’s the point of being on the water if you can’t catch your dinner? Kemah has plenty of fishing charters to choose from. At Clear Lake Texas Fishing Trips, you can set sail for red fish, speckled trout, and flounder fishing expeditions. At Get the Net Fishing Charters, you can add black drum, sheepshead, and even alligator gar to the list of potential catches!

Other ways to soak up the water

If you’re looking for something a little more physical and family-friendly, Kayak Shack offers a range of kayak and paddle board rentals for every water-lover in your family. And if you’re looking to make your own waves, Kemah Jet Ski Rentals can help you rev up any water-soaked afternoon. Love jet-skiing, but want to take it up a notch? Try jet surfing! In jet surfing, you use a motorized surfboard to zip through the waves (but you might want a lesson first). To get your feet wet, give the folks at Jet Surf Academy Houston a call to arrange your own private lesson.
